BIO
Ja-Rell McArthur is an 80’s baby, born and raised in Upstate, NY. At the age of 15, He started writing rhymes making beats by the age of 17. In addition, he began working on directing and producing low-budget rap videos during some of his college years. His music is inspired by his real life experiences and everyday lifestyle. Ja-Rell’s energetic party presence brings life to all of his shows whether it is a performance at a small tavern or even a performance in a sports arena. His music can be heard all over the internet, various clubs, venues and commercial radio.
As Ja-Rell started to gain a little respect for his music, he was determined to get his name known by any means. In 2004, Ja-Rell started selling his instrumentals locally and world wide via internet. Then in 2005, he directed edited and appeared in his first low budget music video which was seen all over the world. Since the music video, he has had a huge increase in fans more than ever before. Then one of his songs made it on the radio in result of a DJ hearing his music in a local bar. After all the recognition he gained, in 2006 Ja-Rell decided to make a record label and promotion company called Hood Stardom entertainment. This was the start of a movement that was promoted by the internet and the streets. Then he soon landed newspaper articles, plenty of gigs, promo clothing models, management opportunities, as well as indie label record deal.
In 2009, Ja-Rell moved his talents to Tampa, Fl where he vowed to get in to the spotlight at any angle. With this being said, he has landed his music on the DVD and Showtime show called “Kiss & Tail” The Hollywood Jump off, and also acted in few local films. In 2010 he launched Ja-Rell.Com with the release of his first video as a Florida resident, coining the name MR. Ja-Rell.com. The site features his videos, songs, artwork, and also shout outs from Mr. “We the Best himself” DJ Khaled and the Houston rap star Slim Thugg.
In 2013, He was recruited as a writer for "Word of mouths" magazine in which he conducted interviews for local artists from different regions.
In 2016, Ja-Rell joined FMG Radio as a DJ host for the online radio station based out of Upstate, NY.
